The Rule Foundation is a charity concerned with the welfare, wellbeing and health of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and intersex (GLBTI) people in New Zealand.
We give funds to groups and individuals who provide support services or community activities for GLBTI people, or who undertake education and research on GLBTI issues.
The Foundation is named for Peter Rule, who died in Wellington in 1987. Peter wanted to help the rainbow community to become integrated, valued and supported within New Zealand society, and provided seeding funds for this in his will.
The Rule Foundation was registered in 2009 under the Charities Act 2005 as a charitable trust. Annual returns of the Foundationís activities are available from the Charities Commission website under registration number: CC39280.
As well as providing funds to community projects and causes we are keen to further build our capital base through bequests and donations.
